(PRIMASPORT) PARIS French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez has confirmed that the Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, scheduled for Tuesday at the Parc des Princes, will go ahead despite recent violent student protests in the country. The match will require extensive security, while law enforcement is already under pressure due to the ongoing demonstrations.
During an emergency meeting with government officials, Nuñez stated that while the possibility of canceling scheduled events, including football matches, has been considered, this will not affect the PSG-Barcelona match. Likewise, other European matches scheduled in France, such as Lille-Galatasaray, will also take place unchanged.
PSG coach Luis Enrique, when asked about the impact of social tensions on his team, downplayed the effects, saying he doesn't feel scared and wants to stay focused solely on the pitch: "We don't approve of this violence, but unfortunately it's part of today's society. We simply have to stay focused on the game." (PRIMASPORT)
