(PRIMASPORT) PARMA – Torino took over at the Tardini Stadium and handed Parma their second 3-0 victory since Gilardino's reign. Cholito Simeone scored twice, scoring after five minutes and then replying in the second half with a powerful right-footed strike from 30 meters into the top corner. In between, Che Adams doubled the lead with a header. Abate's Granata, who dominated the match, have drawn level with Napoli in the standings and are now one point behind Juventus.
Torino enjoyed a leisurely first half and contained Parma's futile attempts in the first twenty minutes of the second. Nevertheless, in the post-match press conference, Torino coach Ignazio Abate poured cold water on the situation, calling his team's excellent performance the start of a long journey ahead. But the Torino coach didn't hide his satisfaction with Simeone, emphasizing that he has always sacrificed himself and worked hard for the team, and acknowledging his ability to defend with order and without conceding. Alberto Gilardino, for his part, took responsibility for the approach to the match. "The first half hour was too bad to be true. Always second and behind, always far behind on second balls," the Parma coach stated, adding that work will be needed on the technical and tactical aspects, as well as the mental aspect.
