Manlio Scopigno and Felice Pulici Award, including coaches Silvio Baldini and Andrea Soncin

(PRIMASPORT) ROME – The CONI Hall of Honour in Rome hosted the 25th edition of the National and International Awards ceremony.‘Manlio Scopigno and ‘Happy Pulici’The awards aim to recognize the technical excellence of football professionals and talents, placing a strong emphasis on loyalty, fair play, and social responsibility. During the morning, three Special Awards were presented to the Women's National Team Coach Andrea Soncin, the Under-21 Coach Silvio Baldini, and the National Youth Team Coordinator Maurizio Viscidi.

“"This award is a responsibility for all the values we strive to instill, both on and off the field," Soncin commented on stage as he received the award. "We're racing to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil, and it's not just the sporting result that matters, but also a cultural responsibility to shine an even greater light on female athletes, on a rapidly growing movement, and on the many girls and young women who want to play football.".

Under-21 coach Silvio Baldini commented: "Every morning I get up at 5:00 and go for a walk in the Carrara harbor with my wife. On the way home before leaving for Rome, she asked me why I didn't shave, but I came as I am, because being is more important than appearing. I'm proud to accept this award: if Scopigno were here, I'd love to hug him a thousand times.".

Finally, Viscidi also insisted on the topic of values: "We want to develop our young people, and to do so, we need them to find healthy, clean environments and, above all, people and coaches who know how to teach them human values first and then the fundamentals of the game.".
