ROME - Roma dreamed and laid the foundations for victory against Inter with a determined first half, resulting in a 2-0 lead at halftime thanks to a brace from Koné. However, the Nerazzurri once again overcame a two-goal deficit in the second half, with Lautaro Martinez responding in trademark style. The big match at the Olimpico between Gasperini's Giallorossi and Chivu's side ended 2-2, leaving them tied at the top of the table.
Roma took the lead after just six minutes on a cross from the right by Dybala, a header from Molina, and Manu Koné's right-footed shot beat Martinez. Inter tried to respond and came close to equalizing with Bastoni hitting the post and Lautaro firing a moving penalty over. On the half-hour mark, Gasperini's team doubled their lead with another move that began with Dybala's cross into the box. This time, Mancini laid it off for Manu Koné, who scored with his left foot. Referee Massa initially disallowed the goal for offside, but after a VAR review, the goal was upheld. After the break, the Nerazzurri reopened the game with Lautaro combining with Thuram and firing a left-footed shot past Svilar. The Frenchman then set up a left-footed strike to make it 2-1 in the 46th minute. Roma managed to control the score and Inter's pressure until the 79th minute, when Bisseck set up Lautaro from a corner to make it 2-2. It couldn't be said that there was a lack of entertainment, as both teams played a highly intense match. Only Malen was missing from the Giallorossi squad, and the Nerazzurri's midfield was less than stellar, having been rebalanced by the introduction of Susic in the second half.
