Genoa secured their first Serie A victory by beating Fiorentina 2-1.

(PRIMASPORT) GENOA Genoa earned its first league win by defeating Fiorentina 2-1 at the Ferraris Stadium. Osmajic and Messias scored early goals, while Fiorentina's goal came in the second half thanks to an own goal by Vasquez.

De Rossi overhauled the Grifone's lineup due to absences, deploying Traoré and Frendrup in front of the defense and starting El Shaarawy. The hosts immediately took control of the game, scoring in the seventh minute through Osmajic, assisted by Ellertsson. Eight minutes later, Junior Messias doubled the lead, capitalizing on a lapse in concentration from the Viola defense.

Fiorentina attempted to respond, but Gnonto's goal was disallowed for offside by Beto. In the second half, the visitors pulled one back with an own goal from Vasquez, but were unable to equalize despite a late assault, while Genoa defended effectively, consolidating their lead until the final whistle.

Daniele in the press room De Rossi He said he was emotional. "We're over the moon, but after Parma I was in a tailspin. We only have four points from six games, so we've still got a long way to go. We were overwhelming in the first half, and I was hoping we'd score a third, knowing Fiorentina are a team that can cause damage. We stayed compact and took very few risks." De Rossi expressed his enthusiasm for Osmajic.
“He brought serenity, solutions, and depth. He wasn't top of the list, but I'm so happy he arrived. He's an incredible signing.”.

Paul Vanoli, Fiorentina's coach, didn't hide his point. "We completely miscalculated our approach. We still need to become a team, and that happens when you understand the situation where you're going to play," he declared. The coach took responsibility for the initial tactical difficulties, emphasizing that this experience should be a stimulus for the future: "We've taken this blow, which should be a blow to our health because we're young. This team reacts, they have quality, but they shouldn't get nervous. The fact is, we need to concede fewer goals, though." (PRIMASPORT)
