(PRIMASPORT) GENOA Genoa, after picking up just one point from their first five league games, prepares to face Fiorentina on Saturday, aiming to begin a new chapter in the league. Genoa coach Daniele De Rossi described how the long break allowed the team to work hard, reflect, and recover, despite some injury-related absences.
“"I'm calm, I'm doing my job, aware of the disappointment all coaches feel when results don't come as expected," De Rossi said. He added that he saw a committed and motivated team, in good spirits despite the disappointing results, emphasizing that the situation is still recoverable.
Regarding his opponents, De Rossi praised Fiorentina, who recently replaced Grosso as coach with Vanoli, calling them "a very strong and fearsome team, with top-notch individual players and a newfound stability that allows them to express their potential.".
Genoa will have to do without Colombo, Sow, and Meichtry, but are ready to develop new players like Wiafe, described by the coach as "a strong player," and Traoré, "ready to play in Serie A as well." (PRIMASPORT)
