(PRIMASPORT) GENOA – A dismal Juventus side was knocked out at the Ferraris stadium by Genoa, who capitalized on goals scored in the first half hour by Ehizibue and Baldanzi and controlled them with authority, only risking a goal after the 90th minute from a free kick by Koopmeiners that hit the crossbar. De Rossi's team displayed character and solidity against Spalletti, who, after relying on Kolo Muani, with Alajbegovic and McKennie in support, attempted to break the deadlock by bringing on Zhegrova and Woltemade in the second half, but neither was able to make an impact. This was the Bianconeri's third defeat in their first nine games, marking one of their worst league starts ever. Juventus seemed to lack the physical and mental energy to keep pace with Genoa, who, however, entered the match with a wealth of motivation. This is a bad sign ahead of their duel with Napoli, who share eighth place in the standings with 14 points. Juventus is now 11 points off the top of Serie A and 6 points off fourth place.
