(PRIMASPORT) Cristiano Ronaldo was voted by fans as the best Ballon d'Or winner of all time in the Ballon d'Or All Time, an online vote that took place from October 20 to 27, 2026, on the official Ballon d'Or website. Although he was not among the candidates for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, Ronaldo earned the award thanks to his 2008 trophy, the year he won the Champions League and Premier League titles with Manchester United.
Second place went to Lionel Messi with the 2012 Ballon d'Or, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo with the 2017 award and Messi again with the 2023 one. The vote celebrated the 70th edition of the award and involved ten former multiple Ballon d'Or winners: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Marco Van Basten, Michel Platini, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Kevin Keegan, Franz Beckenbauer, Johan Cruyff and Alfredo Di Stefano.
Fans were able to cast their vote online with a symbolic €1 token. The organization announced that over 5,000 people voted more than once, 300 voted between 5 and 9 times, and 44 people cast between 10 and 26 votes. (PRIMASPORT)
