(PRIMASPORT) FLORENCE Fiorentina is preparing to face Atalanta at the Stadio Franchi with a particularly difficult defensive situation. Croatian center back Marin Pongracic suffered a myofascial tear to the long head of the biceps femoris in his right thigh during the match against Inter, the Viola announced.
Tests confirmed the severity of the injury, which will force the player to miss at least the next three matches against Atalanta, Sassuolo, and Juventus. He is expected to return after the international break, during which he will continue his treatment and rehabilitation.
The team is also struggling in the standings, currently third-last with just four points and coming off three consecutive defeats. In addition to Pongracic, midfielder Arthur Atta will continue to be absent for Thursday night's match. (PRIMASPORT)
