(PRIMASPORT) TORTONA Baglietto Derthona Tortona takes the field on Wednesday, October 28th at 7:30 PM at the Nova Arena in Tortona for the fifth matchday of Group A of the BKT EuroCup, facing the Rostock Seawolves. The match represents a key event for coach Mario Fioretti's Lions, who are looking to improve their record in the European tournament and consolidate their position in the playoffs.
Derthona comes into the match after last week's victory against San Pablo Burgos, which allowed them to remain undefeated on home soil in the EuroCup, while the Serie A defeat against Napoli remains a motivation to immediately raise their heads.
The Rostock Seawolves, led by Polish coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz, currently sit in eighth place in the German Bundesliga and are still outside the EuroCup playoffs with just one win, at home against Riga Zelli. Their key players include American guards TJ Crockett and Zach Copeland, while center Bent Leuchten has been putting in impressive performances in recent games.
Derthona's history against German teams is positive, with a favorable Champions League record for the Lions. On the eve of the match, coach Mario Fioretti emphasized the importance of managing every possession against a team that likes to maintain a high tempo. German small forward Karim Jallow emphasized that defense will be the key to the game, urging the team to turn the disappointment of the league defeat into positive energy for the EuroCup match.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sport Mix and streamed on Now. To make things easier for fans, free shuttles will be available from the center of Tortona to the Nova Arena. Additionally, the event will feature a Halloween Party for children and adults, featuring the mascot "Zombie Leo" and a costume parade during halftime with prizes for the best costumes. (PRIMASPORT)
