(PRIMASPORT) Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's season came to an abrupt end early in the second half of PSG-Barcelona due to a serious right knee injury. Medical tests revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which will result in a lengthy sideline of approximately nine months and surgery in the coming days.
The Georgian, formerly of Napoli, sustained the injury in the 59th minute following a challenge with Xavi Espart, with his leg bending inward, causing a painful fall. The immediate severity of the injury was confirmed by tests carried out the following day.
PSG also announced the conditions of two other players injured in the same match: Ousmane Dembélé suffered a lesion to his left thigh, while Marquinhos has a lesion to his right thigh. Both players will require treatment in the coming weeks.
PSG will return to action on November 25th in the Champions League against Gasperini's Roma, and will face Fabregas' Como on January 20th, 2027. (PRIMASPORT)
