Euroleague: Olimpia Milano defeated 97-79 by Maccabi Tel Aviv in Belgrade.

(PRIMASPORT) BELGRADE Armani Milano's Euroleague slump continues with its third defeat in six days, both in the league and the cup. On neutral ground in Belgrade, coach Poeta's team fell heavily to Maccabi Tel Aviv, 97-79. Only Wright tried to keep Milan afloat with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and a 32-point rating, but the team's systematic rotation backfired. The Israelis honored the victims of October 7th with a minute's silence, securing their first Euroleague win and drawing level with Milan in the standings at 1-3.

Olimpia got off to a dramatic start, trailing by 11 points (20-9) after just seven minutes with four turnovers. Despite numerous fouls (19 of 35 points coming from free throws), Maccabi maintained their lead thanks to key baskets from Madar (17 points) and Colson (13 points), who scored four consecutive baskets that sealed the lead. Early in the final quarter, an 18-7 run (83-67) effectively sealed the game. In the final minutes, Olimpia paid the price for numerous errors and uncertainties, raising numerous questions about the team's current form. (PRIMASPORT)

Coach Peppe Poeta commented on the Belgrade match as follows: “"We had a lot of ups and downs, and finally, in the fourth quarter, we gave up, we didn't show up, and we lost confidence. This team's growth process is taking longer than we all expected. Today, we had a couple of players who improved compared to the last few practices, but two or three others took a step back. We need to get everyone on the same page and adjust as quickly as possible.".
