CARAMANICO TERME – Lennart Jasch (Tudor Pro Cycling Team) He won the second stage of the Giro d'Abruzzo Carta Giovani Nazionale, the 143km Popoli Terme–Caramanico Terme route, ahead of Dorian Godon (Netcompany Ineos) and Matteo Scalco (XDS Astana Development Team). The German rider, national runner-up, had emerged ahead of the pack just over 10 kilometres from the finish, on the Scagnano climb, accompanied by Matteo Scalco and Mattia Bais, attacking solo as soon as the road steepened again near the final kilometre. Jasch also flirted with the possibility of taking the Giro d'Abruzzo Carta Giovani Nazionale leader's jersey, but the return of the group, led by Dorian Godon, allowed him to Alessandro Fancellu (MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort) remains in the leader's jersey with a 4" advantage.
In the other rankings, the Maglia Azzurra ranking has changed, with Emanuele Ansaloni having ousted Filippo D'Aiuto from the top.
