(PRIMASPORT) MILAN Milan has inaugurated the Fiera Ice Arena, a new facility dedicated to ice sports, located in a multipurpose area designed to host competitive activities, youth sectors, and introductory courses in various ice disciplines. The opening to the public took place on Friday, marking a significant turning point for the ice sports movement at the local and national levels.
The construction of the Fiera Ice Arena is the result of a collaboration between the Italian Ice Sports Federation, Fondazione Fiera Milano, the Lombardy Region, the Municipality of Milan, and the Municipality of Rho. With a capacity of up to 4,000 spectators, the facility will host ice hockey events, including Milano HC's ICE Hockey League matches, as well as supporting the development of the youth sector and expanding access to ice sports in the area.
Andrea Gios, President of the Italian Ice Sports Federation, underlined the strategic value of the facility as a concrete legacy of Milano Cortina 2026, highlighting the goal of consolidating a stable home for ice sports in Milan and promoting the growth of the movement in the various disciplines and categories, including the women's sector and youth.
The Fiera Ice Arena thus aims to be a hub for ice sports in Lombardy, representing a long-term investment to encourage sporting activity and engage new generations of athletes. (PRIMASPORT)
