(PRIMASPORT) VANCOUVER Thomas Nadalini took second place in the 1,000 meters during the first round of the Short Track World Tour, held in Vancouver on October 25-26. The Italian, earning his second career podium finish on the premier international circuit, was beaten only by the Dutchman Jens Van't Wout and finished ahead of South Korean Bae Seo-chan, displaying a thrilling multi-pass performance on the final lap.

Nadalini had already reached the podium in the 1,000 meters on Saturday, while in the Montreal race scheduled for late October, the Italian team will aim to build on their results so far. Other Italian athletes competing in Vancouver included Mattia Antonioli, Pietro Marinelli, Davide Oss Chemper, Lorenzo Previtali, and Luca Spechenhauser. The latter placed eighth in the 1,000 meters final standings, finishing third in the B final.

In the women's race, Gloria Ioriatti finished fourth in the 1,500 meters, missing the podium by just a few thousandths of a second and achieving her second-best career result, following her podium finish in the 1,000 meters the previous day. Chiara Betti finished twelfth overall in the same distance.

The Italian relay teams achieved good placings, with the mixed relay winning the B final and finishing fifth overall, while the men's relay finished eighth overall, fourth in the B final. (PRIMASPORT)
