(PRIMASPORT) FLORENCE – On the occasion of Fiorentina's centenary, Viola president Joseph B. Commisso emphasized the importance of protecting the team's extraordinary history and continuing to build its future. In his acceptance speech upon receiving the Pegaso d'Oro, the Tuscany Region's highest honor, Commisso stated: "Our responsibility now is to protect this extraordinary history while continuing to build Fiorentina's future. The president emphasized the club's role in representing Florence and Tuscany with dignity, with the goal of leaving an even stronger club for the next generation. In his speech, Commisso also remembered his father, Rocco, emphasizing his love and foresight for Fiorentina: "My father understood from the very first moment that Fiorentina was much more than a football club; he fell in love with its history and its people. He believed in investing, in building something long-term, something that would last for Fiorentina.".
