(PRIMASPORT) BOLOGNA Bologna has decided to bench goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski for the Serie A match against Napoli due to a delay in the morning technical meeting. Sporting director Marco Di Vaio explained that Skorupski, one of the team's captains, has accepted the disciplinary decision calmly. Young Massimo Pessina, who was a key player last season, will defend the Rossoblu goal.
Pessina, born in 2007 and a member of the Under-19 national team, made his Serie A debut on November 9, 2025, in a match against Napoli, coming on for the injured Skorupski. In that match, Bologna won 2-0. Pessina subsequently made three more unbeaten appearances, including a 3-2 victory at the Maradona, which featured a spectacular goal from Rowe.
This will be Pessina's first match this season, confirming the club's faith in the promising young goalkeeper in the absence of the regular starter, who is sanctioned. (PRIMASPORT)
