SAN MARINO – Marc Marquez set the fastest time in the first free practice session for the San Marino MotoGP Grand Prix, clocking a time of 1'31.468. The Spanish Ducati rider finished 0.060 ahead of Marco Bezzecchi on his Aprilia and 0.133 ahead of compatriot Raul Fernandez, riding for the Trackhouse team.
Jorge Martin, the championship leader and also an Aprilia, finished eighth, 0.267 behind Marquez. Further back, in eighteenth place, was Pecco Bagnaia on the other factory Ducati.
