MISANO – Marco Bezzecchi set the fastest time in MotoGP pre-qualifying for the San Marino Grand Prix at the Marco Simoncelli Circuit in Misano, stopping the clock at 1'30.144 on his Aprilia. Marc Marquez finished second, 0.103 seconds behind, followed by his brother Alex Marquez, 0.185 seconds behind.
The session initially saw the riders focus on race pace simulations, with Bezzecchi very consistent and effective on times in the 1'30.800 range. The KTMs struggled while the Ducatis competed with the Aprilias for some prominent positions.
In the final time attack, Acosta and Marc Marquez improved significantly along with Alex Marquez, but it was Bezzecchi who surprised with a fast lap that allowed him to take the lead.
Behind the top three, the two Ducatis of Team VR46, with Di Giannantonio and Morbidelli, placed fourth and fifth respectively, followed by Acosta, Marini, Zarco and Pol Espargaro.
Jorge Martin, despite two laps being canceled due to track limits, managed to secure the tenth fastest time and direct access to Q2. Enea Bastianini and Raul Fernandez missed out by just a few thousandths of a second. Bagnaia's performance was disappointing, finishing nineteenth in the time attack and struggling with his race pace.
