Inter Milan begins talks to extend Marcus Thuram's contract with a possible pay rise.

(PRIMASPORT) Dario Baccin, Inter's new sporting director, has taken an active role in negotiations to extend the contract of Marcus Thuram, the French striker whose contract expires on June 30, 2028. Despite the €85 million release clause, considered unlikely to be activated given the player's age (almost 30) and current salary of €6 million net, the club has initiated exploratory discussions with the aim of protecting itself and guaranteeing the player's permanence.

Thuram, who has grown into the captain's responsibilities in the absence of the injured Lautaro Martinez, has shown impressive form and a strong commitment to the team, scoring five goals so far this season. A contract renewal could include a potential upward salary increase, with particular attention to bonuses linked to goals and appearances, thanks in part to the incentives offered by the Growth Decree.

Inter's strategy also includes careful management of the striker's energy, possibly excluding him from the match against Venezia to preserve him for the derby against Milan, a match in which Thuram has already proven decisive in the past. (PRIMASPORT)
