Finn brings Italy back to the top of the Giro Next Gen after 15 years

(PRIMASPORT) Lorenzo Mark Finn finished his Giro Next Gen Carta Giovani Nazionale in style, taking the Maglia Rosa and also winning the Villa Sant'Angelo-L'Aquila Tudor ITT. The two-time world champion clocked a time of 29'03", 15" ahead of Irish national champion Adam Rafferty and 32" ahead of Belgian national champion and former Maglia Rosa Matisse Van Kerckhove. Further back were Mateo Ramirez and Henrique Bravo, who nevertheless defended the podium from the assault of the winner of Piana delle Mele, Aubin Sparfel, who finished fourth in both the time trial and the general classification.

Finn thus brings Italy back to the top of the Giro Next Gen, fifteen years after the success of Mattia Cattaneo, now his teammate at Red Bull. The team also celebrates the conquest of the Maglia Tricolore, again worn by Finn, the Maglia Rossa, won by stage two winner Davide Donati, and the Superteam classification. Also on the final podium were Briton Mattie Dodd, winner of the Maglia Azzurra, and Javier Cubillas, winner of the Maglia Bianca. (PRIMASPORT)
