Verstappen dominates in Singapore, Antonelli third, securing the title in Austin

(PRIMASPORT) SINGAPORE – Max Verstappen dominated the Singapore Grand Prix, leading from the start, fending off an attack from Charles Leclerc, who attempted to pass him at the first corner. The Dutchman from Red Bull, who started from pole position, managed the race as best he could, and repeated the feat a week after winning in Bahrain. The Monegasque returned Ferrari to second place, but more importantly, Kimi Antonelli took third place on the podium, putting him in a strong position to secure the drivers' world title in the next race in Austin. With eight laps to go, the championship leader took advantage of the duel between Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton, with the McLaren driver running wide, allowing him to pass the Ferrari driver and take third place, which he held until the finish. Hamilton then slipped past the McLarens of Norris and Piastri, who finished fourth and fifth. In the drivers' standings, Antonelli is clearly in the lead with 325 points, followed by his teammate Russell, who started last and finished ninth in Singapore, on 236 points. Third is Hamilton (221), then Leclerc (197), Verstappen (196) and the outgoing world champion Norris (189). (PRIMASPORT)
