VIAREGGIO - Filippo Ganna dominated the Giro d'Italia time trial with a display of strength worthy of a great champion. In the Viareggio-Marina di Massa individual time trial, the hour record holder covered the 42km of flatland between Versilia and the Apuan Riviera at an average speed of 54.921 km/h, in 45'53". Dutchman Thymen Arensman finished second, 1'54" behind, with Frenchman Rémi Cavagna third, 1'59". This was the tenth stage. In the general classification, Portugal's Afonso Eulalio is 4'57" behind Ganna and retains the pink jersey. The favorite for the overall victory, according to the forecasts, is Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard.
