CESENA - The Azzurrini got off to a flying start, breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute with Pisilli, aided by a Swedish defense error. Italy pressed, but the Nordic side failed to respond. Pisilli's header hit the post (32'), while Cherubini was blocked twice. In the 40th minute, Camarda won and then converted a penalty. In stoppage time, Palestra broke through on the right and fed Pisilli, who scored twice. Sweden had a stronger presence in the second half (two saves by Palmisano). But Italy reigned supreme: Camarda hit the post (58') and Berti converted a penalty (92') to make it four goals.
