Emanuela Maccarani has been named the new head coach of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team for group exercises, as announced by the Moscow federation and confirmed by her husband, Moreno Buccianti, on Facebook. Maccarani led the Italian national team from 1996 to 2025. Her relationship with the Italian Gymnastics Federation ended following the scandal of alleged psychological abuse reported by several former gymnasts, including Anna Basta and Nina Corradini, beginning in the fall of 2022.
