(PRIMASPORT) The second stage of the Tour de France at Le Markstein, three years after the previous one, saw the same winner: Tadej Pogacar. This second success for the world champion has a very different meaning to the previous one: at the time, the Slovenian star redeemed himself with a consolation victory, suffering the domination of Jonas Vingegaard in the general classification. Three years later, the leader of the UAE Emirates XRG team dominated, wearing the Yellow Jersey on his back, taking his fourth victory of the season, riding solo in the lead. In his seven participations, he now boasts 25 stage victories, the same total as André Leducq. Only three riders precede him: Mark Cavendish (35), Eddy Merckx (34) and Bernard Hinault (28). On the day of Pogacar's triumph, Isaac del Toro finished second, achieving another one-two for the UAE Emirates XRG team. Paul Seixas (Decathlon CMA CGM) completed the podium and moved up a spot in the overall standings, overtaking Juan Ayuso (Lidl-Trek) and taking the white jersey for the young rider classification. Stage 14 was a rollercoaster ride, with four major climbs and 3,800 meters of elevation gain packed into the 155.3 km race from Mulhouse to Le Markstein Fellering. Valentin Paret-Peintre (Soudal Quick-Step) completed a hat-trick of categorized climbs and takes the lead in the climbers' standings with 43 points, one more than Pogacar. Carapaz climbs to 38 points. The decisive moment of stage 14 came when the gradient reached 16% and Tadej Pogacar unleashed his pedal power. (PRIMASPORT)
