NAPLES Massimiliano Allegri expressed his frustration at the end of Napoli's victory over Bologna, emphasizing how certain situations could have been handled better. "My anger at the end? We could have handled certain situations better. We started to control the ball in our own half, and that shouldn't happen," the coach explained.
A visibly annoyed Allegri reacted vehemently just seconds before the final whistle to Lucca's mishandling of the ball, so much so that he inadvertently bumped into vice-president Edoardo De Laurentiis, who tried to calm him down.
The coach commented positively on the striker's introduction, saying: "He came on very well, I'm happy." Regarding his team's performance, he added: "We had a lot of chances and conceded few. Let's hope it's a good start; it's our first win in Naples.".
Allegri paid particular attention to Kevin De Bruyne: "He's played behind a striker his entire career. He's so intelligent that he always knows how to find the right position. From the way he stops the ball and passes it, you can see he's a different player. Given his age, he needs to be managed. He's just had cramps.".
Finally, Allegri praised the energy and enthusiasm shown on the pitch: "The boys wanted to win and brought their anger to it, something we lacked against Como and Inter. Favasuli was very good; he has incredible energy. We need these players who bring enthusiasm." He then emphasized everyone's contribution, especially those in the first half, also citing Politano and Vergara for their sacrifices and commitment.
