CALIFORNIA – With a double tiebreak, Jannik Sinner beats Russian Daniil Medvedev 7-6 (6) 7-6 (4) and wins the Indian Wells tournament for the first time in his career.
On the Californian hard court, it is also the first title of the year for the 24-year-old
Italian, currently world no. 2.
The match lasted one hour and 57 minutes. Neither player dropped serve. Sinner demonstrated his usual mental toughness, winning both tiebreaks. In the second set, he was even down 0-4 and won seven consecutive points.
