Gonçalo Ramos on Milan, Ruben Amorim and the future at Benfica

(PRIMASPORT) Gonçalo Ramos revealed in an interview with Canal 11 his connection to AC Milan and Ruben Amorim's key role in his transfer. "Ruben Amorim called me and told me he wanted me. Now I'm truly playing my role," the striker said.

Ramos added that he wanted to leave Paris Saint-Germain as early as January, but the move wasn't easy, partly due to the club's opposition. "During the World Cup, AC Milan called me, and Amorim told me we'd do great things together. I thanked him for his faith in me.".

The Rossoneri experience is proving positive for him: "Before moving, I asked people who had been at Milanello and got good feedback. I like being here and I'm enjoying everything. At PSG, I wasn't playing in my position, now I can do what I'm good at.".

The player also discussed his relationship with teammate Modric, noting: "We get along very well, and we sit next to each other in the locker room. I see him as very quiet, but when it comes to joking, he actively participates.".

Finally, Gonçalo Ramos expressed his hope of one day returning to Benfica, the team that trained him: "I always watch their games. Of course, it's difficult to make promises, but I hope to return one day. In Portugal, I could only play for Benfica; I've spent my whole life there. It would be a betrayal to play for other clubs; I could never do that." (PRIMASPORT)
