(PRIMASPORT) FROSINONE Frosinone continued their strong form by winning the friendly against Benevento 2-1. The match, played behind closed doors at the Stirpe Stadium, saw Alessandro Alvini's team field a new lineup, missing 13 internationals and the injured Raimondo, using a 3-5-2 formation.
In the first half, Frosinone immediately put Benevento, currently seventh in Serie B, under pressure, scoring in the seventh minute through Cittadini and doubling the lead in the 34th minute thanks to a Calò free kick, though goalkeeper Esposito was somewhat responsible. In the second half, Benevento pulled one back in the 13th minute through Verdi, but Frosinone continued to push, nearly scoring the third through Masini, whose goal was ruled out for offside in the 27th minute.
The test was used by Alvini, who was awarded the League's best coach for August and September, to experiment with new tactical solutions and evaluate the condition of his less-used players, raising the team's level ahead of the championship's resumption scheduled for Saturday, October 10th in Naples.
