(PRIMASPORT) MILAN Inter coach Cristian Chivu emphasized the importance of winning the Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk, which is essential to revitalizing the team after a string of European defeats. Ahead of the match, Chivu emphasized how the players must take responsibility and maintain their focus on the game to return to success.
Despite their positive league performance, Chivu acknowledged their difficulties in Europe, where Inter have suffered seven defeats in their last eight matches. "I want my players to enjoy themselves even in adversity. They need to be aware of the importance of matches and take responsibility without losing sight of the game. That way, it's easier to win," said the Nerazzurri coach.
Chivu ruled out any structural changes to the team, explaining that his post-Bruges comments were a reminder to himself to improve his approach and communication with the team. He also warned that the match will be challenging: "Like all Champions League matches, our opponents have nothing to lose and are ambitious: we'll have to have the right attitude to win it."
