BENEVENTO The Italian Field Archery Championships will be held in Benevento and Vitulano from September 17 to 20, 2026. Organized by the Arcieri della Stella with the support of the Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO), the Campania Regional Committee, and Coldiretti Benevento, the event will see the participation of 400 archers from 135 Italian clubs.
The competitions will be held at two venues: Pianoro di Camposauro in Vitulano, home to the qualifying and preliminary rounds, and Rocca dei Rettori in the center of Benevento, home to the finals. The competitions will cover the Recurve, Compound, Barebow, and Longbow divisions and will involve athletes of all age groups, including the Italian team preparing for the World Field Archery Championships in Yankton, USA.
The program includes the official presentation on Thursday, September 17th at 12:00 PM at the Coldiretti Provincial Headquarters in Benevento, followed by the opening ceremony in Vitulano at 6:00 PM. The competition will begin on Friday the 18th with individual qualifying and elimination rounds, while Saturday the 19th will feature the Longbow and team events in the morning, followed by the individual finals in Benevento in the afternoon. Sunday the 20th will conclude with the mixed team qualifying and finals, as well as the awards ceremony.
The championship represents a crucial test for Italian athletes before the World Championships and underscores the growing importance of archery in the Samnite region.
