SALTILLO The 2026 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final will take place on September 12 and 13 in Saltillo, Mexico, with the opening ceremony and quarterfinal draw just concluded in the Plaza de Armas, which hosts the competition venue. The competition brings together the season's top eight archers in each division and will award the titles with the compound archery matches on Saturday and the recurve archery matches on Sunday.
Among the Italians competing are recurve archers Roberta Di Francesco, making her World Cup final debut, and Mauro Nespoli, competing in his eighth event. In the women's draw, Di Francesco, currently eleventh in the world rankings, will face Mexico's Alejandra Valencia, seventh in the rankings and a former Olympic team bronze medalist at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. Nespoli, recovering from injury, will face Japan's Junya Nakanishi, qualifying for the final for the first time, aiming for his first title at this event after a silver medal in 2019 and a bronze medal in 2023.
The schedule also includes high-level matches in the men's recurve between Mexico's Matias Grande and Turkey's Olympic champion Mete Gazoz, as well as defending champion Brady Ellison taking on France's Jean-Charles Valladont. The women's recurve lineup is very evenly matched, with athletes such as world champion Marie Horackova and other title favorites.
In the women's compound, attention will be on Colombian Sara Lopez, seeking her tenth World Cup final victory, and highly anticipated matches include Estonian Lisell Jaatma and American Alexis Ruiz. In the men's compound, Mexican Sebastian Garcia Flores stands out, as does the Danish derby between Mathias Fullerton and Martin Damsbo, and the presence of Dutchman Mike Schloesser, one of the historic favorites.
