CORDOBA – Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike) also triumphed in the 15th stage of the Vuelta 26, finishing in Córdoba. It was where he had scored his second victory in the major Spanish stage race two years ago. This time, he attacked to secure his second victory in the Vuelta 26. Only four rivals managed to keep pace with the green jersey holder on a grueling stage. But no one could match his final sprint. At the finish line in the Andalusian city, Alessandro Romele (XDS Astana) finished second, ahead of Thibau Nys (Lidl-Trek). Enric Mas (Movistar) finished safely in the group and retained the red jersey heading into the final week of this edition.
