(PRIMASPORT) AVELLINO – In the Serie B matchday six, Avellino secured a resounding 4-1 victory over Sampdoria. The match, played after the international break, saw the Irpini seal the victory in the first half thanks to a trio of goals between the 20th and 29th minutes, scored by Palumbo, Russo, and Besaggio, after an initial equalizer between Cheddira and Insigne.
Sampdoria, defeated for the third time in their last four matches, slips into the play-off zone with just four points from six games. Their performance was also affected by the tense atmosphere outside the Partenio Stadium, with clashes between Blucerchiati fans and security forces forcing the Ligurian team to remain locked in their hotel until an hour before kickoff.
The Campania team celebrates the victory that boosts their playoff position, while Sampdoria is facing possible changes in coaching, with Bernardo Corradi at risk of dismissal after a poor run. (PRIMASPORT)
