Volleyball: Allianz Milano ready for the 2026 Jesi Volley Cup

(PRIMASPORT) JESI – Allianz Milan is preparing for a new high-level pre-season event. The team led by Guillermo Falasca will be involved in the fourth edition of the Jesi Volley Cup, scheduled for the Marche region, where they will have the opportunity to compete against international opponents and evaluate the group's progress ahead of the start of the season. This is an important opportunity, especially for a revamped team, which must find the right balance of technique and play.

Fourth edition of the Jesi Volley Cup and fourth participation for Allianz Milano, who on Saturday 10 October at 5.30 pm will face’Olympiakos Piraeus in the first semifinal at PalaTriccoli. The 2026 edition of the high-level quadrangular tournament, presented today in the press room of the PalaTriccoli, brings together Allianz and the Greek team, which returns to Jesi after participating in the first historic edition in 2023, Lube Kitchens Civitanova (they too are always present like Milan) and Suntory Sunbirds Osaka. The presence of the Japanese team is one of the most interesting developments of the tournament. The Suntory Sunbirds Osaka have been in Italy for a few days and have already played a test against Perugia, losing 3-1. The Japanese team also includes former Sir opposite hitter Ben Tara, one of the team's key attackers. Meanwhile, Milan is completing Scheggino's training camp. The tournament in the Marche region will allow coach Guillermo Falasca and his staff to assess the group's condition.

“We feel a bit like the co-founders of this beautiful event, together with Lube – he underlines Fabio Lini, general and sporting director of Allianz Milano –. The team is completing its training camp in Umbria. We have many new players, a new coaching staff, and we're eager to see where we stand in terms of fitness and chemistry between the players."”. This will also be a significant test for the caliber of their opponents. In the semifinals, Allianz Milano will face Olympiakos Piraeus, a team they faced in the tournament three years ago and defeated in the third-place play-off. The general and sporting director of Allianz Milano is also looking forward to the participation of Suntory Sunbirds Osaka: “We're pleased that a Japanese team is also participating in the competition, given that Allianz Milano has been the most Japanese-based team in the Super League for many years: first with Ishikawa and then for the last three years with Otsuka. Congratulations to our friend and president Luca Vecci; we know many teams want to participate in this tournament.”.

For Allianz Milano, the Jesi Volley Cup will therefore be another important step towards the official start of the season. After the tournament, the team will be the protagonist of the official presentation on Tuesday, October 13th at the Allianz Tower and on Wednesday 14th will face the final test against Valsa Group Modena to the Pavesi Center. The warm-up will begin at 2:30 p.m., while the joint training session will end at 5 p.m. (PRIMASPORT)
