ARAMÓN VALDELINARES (Spain) – While putting his hands to his head in disbelief at Aramon Valdelinares, Andreas Leknessund (Uno-X Mobility) secured a special victory, highlighted by the black armbands he and his Norwegian compatriots wore on stage seven of the Vuelta 26. Starting from Vall d'Alba, they were at the head of the peloton, paying tribute to King Harald V, who passed away on Friday. Moments later, Leknessund launched the first attack, spending the entire day at the front of the peloton, and finally dropped his breakaway teammates on the final climb of the day, 7.5 km from the finish, taking Norway's first stage win at the Vuelta since Thor Hushovd's success in Murcia in 2010. Sixteen years later, Hushovd is the team manager of Uno-X Mobility, which is making its Vuelta debut and has already triumphed in the last four Grand Tours it has competed in: Abrahamsen at the 2025 Tour, Dversnes at the 2026 Giro, Waerenskjold at the 2026 Tour, and now Leknessund. The Scandinavian team achieved a double in Aramon Valdelinares with Tobias Johannessen finishing ahead of Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike). Among the contenders for the general classification, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates XRG) gained a few seconds, once again confirming his superiority.
