Toto Wolff rejects accusations of favoritism among Mercedes drivers in Formula 1.

(PRIMASPORT) Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has vehemently responded to rumors circulating on social media accusing the team of favoring driver Antonelli over George Russell in the fight for the Formula 1 world championship. Wolff called these theories "complete nonsense" and harshly criticized those who promote them, going so far as to call the authors of such claims "idiots.".

«"They think I have a button that says 'George, immediate engine failure?' or that I put one driver at a disadvantage compared to the other, while we're fighting for the constructors' championship. We've always had the philosophy of providing everyone with the same equipment," Wolff explained.

The Austrian manager also commented on the negative impact of social media: "People hide behind screens and let loose. There's a lot of polarization out there, sometimes I read what they write. When I read insults towards me or the team, I'm very amused. There are even those who say I'm evil. I have zero understanding and respect for the people who make up these stories." Wolff quipped, advising people to "watch Teletubbies or Mickey Mouse" instead of following such discussions. (PRIMASPORT)
