MONTREAL – Elisa Longo Borghini won the bronze medal in the women's elite road race at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal. The race was won by Dutch favorite Demi Vollering, while the silver medal went to Poland's Kasia Niewiadoma. CORTINA – Elia Barp and Federico Pellegrino won bronze in the freestyle team sprint cross-country skiing event. The Italians finished 3.3 seconds behind Norway, whose champion Johannes Klaebo and Einar Hedegart took gold. The United States took silver. Pellegrino, 35, is the veteran of Italian cross-country skiing. He already has two Olympic silver medals under his belt, in the sprint in PyeongChang and Beijing. He was world champion in Lahti in 2017. Barp, a 23-year-old from Belluno, won a medal in his Olympic debut.

CORTINA - Michela Moioli won the bronze medal in snowboard cross. The 30-year-old from Bergamo finished the Big Final behind Australian Baff and Czech Republic's Adamczykova. This is her third Olympic medal, following the gold medal at PyeongChang 2018 and the silver medal at Beijing 2022. The Italian athlete had a solid run to the final, winning the round of 16 heats, the quarterfinals, and the semifinals. The other Italians competing included Sofia Groblechner, who advanced to the quarterfinals, and Liasa Francesia Boirai, who advanced to the semifinals.
