BUDAPEST - Gianmarco Tamberi achieved a remarkable feat, winning the Ultimate Championship in Budapest with a stunning 2.37m high jump, having previously jumped 2.35m, twice surpassing the world's best performance of the year. Gimbo then returned to attempt 2.41m, putting on a spectacular show in the stadium where he won the world title three years ago, just a month after his fourth European gold medal. In the first edition of the final event of the world athletics season, Tamberi's victory follows Larissa Iapichino's in the long jump. At 34, Gianmarco Tamberi once again managed to climb higher than anyone else in the world this season.

NANCY – A historic feat for 23-year-old Francesco Pernici from Brescia, who broke the Italian 800-meter record of 1:43.7, set by Marcello Fiasconaro on June 27, 1973, at the Arena in Milan. Pernice, representing the Fiamme Gialle (Fiamme Gialle), won the race held in Nancy, France, at the Silver meeting of the Continental Tour, with a time of 1:43.60, leading the entire race. Last September, in the semifinals of the World Championships in Tokyo, the athlete from Valle Camonica, coached by Dalmazio Bersini, had already come close to breaking the record, running 1:43.84, missing out on the final by just four hundredths of a second.
