POLAND - The World Indoor Championships in Poland got off to a blistering start for Italy. Italian-Cuban Andy Diaz confirmed his position as the world's strongest athlete by winning the gold medal in the triple jump, just as he did in 2025 in Nanjing. His first-time jump of 17.47m allowed him to hold off both Jamaica's Jordan Scott (silver with 17.33m) and Algeria's Yasser Triki (bronze with 17.30m). Andrea Dallavalle (16.90m) finished seventh overall.
