(PRIMASPORT) BARCELONA – Tadej Pogacar has returned to his Monte Carlo residence after being discharged from the Barcelona hospital, where he underwent surgery on his left collarbone following a nasty fall during the Vuelta a España, where he was leading the race. The world champion is now beginning his recovery and rehabilitation period with the assistance of the UAE-Emirates medical staff. Pogacar also suffered a stable fracture of the C7 cervical vertebra and numerous abrasions. For this very reason, it is not possible to determine with certainty when Pogacar will be able to return to training and racing. The fracture of the seventh cervical vertebra must be treated with the utmost caution – as the UAE Emirates team medical staff emphasizes – and represents an element that must be carefully evaluated before any consideration of a return to cycling. Without the accident, Pogacar would have had the following scheduled: Road World Championship scheduled for September 27th they European Championships on October 2 in Slovenia, before the season finale represented by the Giro di Lombardia on October 10th. All events that have seen him as an absolute protagonist in recent seasons. (PRIMASPORT)
