(PRIMASPORT) GUBBIO Rugby Gubbio faced Pesaro in a test match on Sunday, October 4th at the Coppiolo pitch in Gubbio, with the visitors prevailing 33-19. Despite the initial deficit, Rugby Gubbio responded with determination and scored a try through Alessio Ghirelli, breaking the deadlock for the Eugubini Wolves. Pesaro then extended their lead to 5-33, but Gubbio continued to play, albeit with a few errors, and thanks to the substitutions, they managed to regain their composure and an effective scrum.
Giovanni di Fiore scored a try to bring the score to 10-33, followed by a technical try for Gubbio that sealed the score. During the final 20 minutes, the team played mostly in the opposition's half.
Coach McDonnell received positive signals from the match ahead of the Serie A championship opener, scheduled for October 18th in Rome against Olimpic. Rugby Gubbio president Andrea Frondizi also thanked the large crowd in attendance and congratulated the Minirugby team, which is currently training in Umbertide. (PRIMASPORT)
