GOTHENBURG – A determined and dominant Italy defeated Slovakia 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-20) to secure their fourth consecutive victory at the CEV Trendyol EuroVolley 2026, reaching 12 points in the standings and maintaining their lead in Pool D. At the Scandinavium, Julio Velasco's Italian team cemented their victory with a quality performance, built on effective play across all key areas and the ability to dictate the pace and solutions, even when Slovakia began to play their best volleyball. Coach Velasco rested Antropova and Fersino and deployed the Egonu-Orro diagonal, Sylla and Nervini as spikers, Danesi and Fahr as middle blockers, and Spirito Libero. Italy found answers in every area of the court, thanks to Orro's excellent distribution of play and the block-defense connection that allowed Velasco's team to better reconstruct their play. There was no match at the wall (12-2)
Italy's record in Pool D remains unblemished: four wins, all 3-0, and no sets lost. The Scandinavium will host the match between the Azzurre and France in a match that will determine first place in the group.
