POMIGLIANO D'ARCO (NAPLES), APRIL 25, 2026 – The inclusive sporting events project “Different Colors but One Flag,” promoted by the Municipality of Pomigliano d'Arco in collaboration with the Municipal Sports Club, will be presented on Monday, April 27, at 10 a.m., in the Council Chamber in Piazza Municipio.
The initiative, coordinated by the Social Services Sector, aims to promote social inclusion through sport, involving minors, vulnerable individuals, and citizens with disabilities.
The calendar includes activities from May to July, with events every weekend including inclusive sports tournaments, music and dance performances, and sustainability initiatives, including cycle rides open to the public.
Events and community participation
The inaugural day is set for May 3rd and will kick off a program spread across the city's main venues. A distinctive element of the project is the symbolic value of the "little owls," mascots representing the colors of disability and accompanying the planned activities.
The direct involvement of schools and the formation of inclusive sports teams are planned, with the role of captain entrusted to people with disabilities.
“"The press conference will be an opportunity to share with the city a project that puts people and their right to fully participate in social life at its core. Through sport, we want to build a more cohesive community," said Deputy Mayor and Sports Councilor Domenico Leone.
The initiative is part of the municipal administration's efforts to strengthen social policies and promote equal opportunities through participation and inclusion tools.
