QUALIANO Napoli will build a new training center in Qualiano, as announced by president Aurelio De Laurentiis. The project includes the installation of 10 soccer fields on a 17.5-hectare site, with 7,500 square meters of offices and locker rooms for the first team and youth teams.
Qualiano's mayor, Raffaele De Leonardis, welcomed the news, emphasizing its importance to the city in terms of development and popularity, but stated that he would wait for the project to be made official before making any further comments.
De Laurentiis also presented his plan for a new 70,000-seat stadium with 120 skyboxes in eastern Naples, in a former industrial area, without requesting public funding. According to the Napoli president, the current stadium, named after Maradona, should be demolished and replaced with new residential space, as the investment planned by the city for its renovation would be insufficient for a true modernization.
