NAPLES Luna Rossa has officially arrived at the military port of Nisida, the new base of operations for the teams competing in the Preliminary Regatta of the 38th America's Cup, which will be held in Naples from September 24 to 27. After completing the preparation phase at the temporary base at the Palumbo shipyard, the Italian team settled into the hangar adjacent to that of the American Racing Challenger team.
Max Sirena, CEO of the Luna Rossa team, called this moment "exciting and historic" on the road to winning the prestigious sailing cup. The transfer operations were accompanied by the arrival of the barge carrying containers containing the team's technical equipment, followed by the transport of the boats in the early afternoon.
The images of the event, released by Sport e Salute, certify the official launch of Luna Rossa's activities at the new venue, which represents a key step towards the eliminated regattas at the end of September.
