REGGIO EMILIA Giovanni Carnevali, Juventus CEO and General Manager, reiterated his confidence in coach Luciano Spalletti, emphasizing the need for patience and planning despite the defeat to Sassuolo in Reggio Emilia. "Changing coaches isn't my idea. We need to plan and build: we need to give it time and be patient, knowing we'll have to swallow some tough things," he told Radio Anch'io Sport.
Carnevali called Spalletti "an extraordinary coach, one of the best ever," and noted that football experiences cycles of ups and downs. "The goal is to win; talk means little or nothing," he added.
Regarding the loss, the CEO admitted that the result was a negative one and that Juventus made mistakes that they couldn't afford, despite having created chances. "We tried to win at all costs, losing our balance against a strong team like Sassuolo. The positive aspect is the spirit of trying to get a result at all costs. I hope this defeat serves as a lesson, and the blame doesn't just lie with the defense, but with all of us.".
Finally, ahead of the Europa League opener against NEC, Carnevali emphasized that the club is aiming for the best possible result and considers the tournament a major opportunity, while acknowledging that there's still a long way to go to compete for the Scudetto and in Europe.
