The Wimbledon tournament opens, as per tradition, with the first match featuring the reigning men's singles champion. It's Jannik's turn, then. Sinner Sinner will be the first to step onto Centre Court at the All England Club, where he boasts a 20-4 record in grass-court tournaments and hopes to capture his fifth Grand Slam title. His opponent is Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic. Along the way, Sinner could face either Casper Ruud or Luciano Darderi (no. 14 in the main draw) in the round of 16, or Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals. Darderi, seeded 14, makes his debut against Ethan Quinn. The other five Italians are in the lower half of the draw. In the first round, Matteo Berrettini faces Stan Wawrinka. Flavio Cobolli, seeded no. 9, faces Argentine Mariano Navone. Matteo Arnaldi, seeded no. 32, faces Frenchman Quentin Halys. Finally, Lorenzo Sonego faces Argentine Tomas Martiun Etcheverry, while Mattia Bellucci tries to overcome American Zachary Svajda.
