The Government allocates another 4.4 million to swimming pool operators to combat the high cost of energy.

(PRIMASPORT) The president of the Italian Swimming Federation, Paolo Barelli, has announced the disbursement of an additional €4.4 million to support swimming pool operators, bringing the total aid from 2022 to €185 million. The decision was made following meetings with the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti and the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, to address the difficulties linked to the rising energy costs weighing on swimming facilities.

These funds, in addition to the €5 million already allocated for safety and security, expected by Christmas, represent essential support for the management of the facilities, as well as ensuring the continuity of the sporting and social activities that involve millions of Italians of all ages.

Barelli emphasized the importance of swimming pools as health facilities and key places for teaching swimming, an essential civic skill in a country with over 8,000 kilometers of coastline and numerous lakes and rivers. He also thanked the Head of the Department of Sport, Flavio Siniscalchi, for his attention and collaboration in planning measures to reduce energy costs. (PRIMASPORT)
